Yarosh , Helen A. . Obituary


Helen A. Yarosh, 80, of Dickson City, died Sunday May 10, 2015 at VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Yarosh, who died January 27, 2009.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Balczenuik Wroblewski and she was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City and its Christian Mother’s Society. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School and prior to retirement she was employed by the NEIU as a teachers aide in the Abington Heights School District for 15 years. Helen was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 665, Dickson City.

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was an avid Penn State fan who had season tickets since 1969. She was an avid golfer who had a one hole in one and she lived life to the fullest. Known to everyone as Babci she dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She always had a kind word for everyone in her life and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Surviving is a daughter, Karen Williams, Peckville; a son, David Yarosh and wife, Lori Jo, Bartonsville; grandchildren, Stephen and Andrew Yarosh and Tyler, Brittney and Shannon Williams; a sister, Janet Covaleski, Milford, CT; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Stanley and John Wroblewski and a sister, Ann Koloc.

Friends may call Friday 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scott Twp.
