 Benedicta Anna “Betty” Lenko, 85, of Dickson City, died Sunday morning February 1, 2015 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lenko, who died October 8, 1983.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Annunziata Frizzi Manetti and she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Throop. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School and she was a homemaker.
Betty volunteered and enjoyed playing bingo for over 25 years at St. Mary’s in Dickson City. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they will miss her dearly. Her family loved coming to her home every Sunday for Noni’s Roni’s and meatballs. She was surrounded with love and her family at the time of passing.
Surviving are three children, Ann Marie Updegraff and husband, Glenn, Lewisberry, PA, Betty Bednarz and husband, Stanley, Dickson City and John Lenko and wife, Nancy, Dickson City; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a sister, Ann Sabatini and husband John, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, August, Anthony and Martin Manetti and a sister, Louise Leonceini.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc. 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Throop. Interment, St. John’s Cemetery, Throop.
